The Teaching Guide for Level 8 consists of 32 lesson
plans. The lesson plans systematically guide students through The Apostolate’s
Family Catechism covering the Creed, Sacraments, Prayer and the Ten
Commandments. The Teaching Guides
help students develop a deeper understanding of the whole Faith each year at the
students’ appropriate level.
The lesson plans are organized in an easy-to-follow format and include the
following sections: teacher preparation, materials, video presentation, prayer,
quiz, discussion, workbook assignment and other activities.
In a typical lesson, teachers may quiz students on the
answers or Scriptures that were memorized from the By Heart Catechism and
Scripture Review book. Then a catechetical video program (DVD or VHS) is viewed,
followed by discussion and other activities.
The Teaching Guide also includes ideas for additional activities,
examinations, and answer keys to the student workbook and supplemental
exercises.
Each lesson plan can be spread out across a number of days
depending on the days and duration of the religion classes.
Optional Resource
The Teaching Guide for Level 8 has corresponding Teacher
& Parent Prep CDs which contain the audio recording of each lesson including
the reading of related references. The
Teacher & Parent Prep CDs are optional resources made available to help busy
teachers to easily prepare for their class. They
can be purchased with the Teaching Guide or separately.
